Fundraising

Fundraising helps support the needs of our students and school. Just a few of the things we did last year included purchasing “Star Carts” for our remaining classrooms, upgrading our hardware in our computer lab, and purchasing a new handwriting curriculum for our Kindergarten and first-grade classrooms. These are items that the school would otherwise have to do without due to budget constraints. There are several easy ways that you can participate in fundraising to raise money for Meridian and for the Meridian PTO.

The Mustang Mile was a success!

On October 7, 2011, Meridian students ran the Mustang Mile around McKay Park Circle and raised more than $31,000 for our school! See our Current Events page for more information on how we’ll use that money to benefit Meridian.

Come to a Chik-Fil-A Spirit Night!

We've already scheduled four Chik-Fil-A spirit nights for the 2011–12 school year. See our Current Events page for more information!

Reloadable King Soopers Cards

The PTO is once again selling reloadable King Soopers gift cards. If you shop for groceries or gas at King Soopers, consider getting a reloadable King Soopers gift card—Meridian will earn 5 percent on all your purchases. The cards are fast and simple: At the cash register, ask the cashier to load your gift card with a predetermined amount before you scan your groceries. Then, after your items are all scanned, pay with the gift card and earn money for our school. Use the card every time you shop—it’s that easy!

If you are interested in participating, contact Becky Breaux to receive a reloadable gift card and more information about the program.

Campbell Soup Labels, Box Tops & Tyson Labels

Collecting these is an easy but effective way to raise money for the Meridian PTO! This year, we will be sending home a Ziploc bag to collect your box tops and labels twice during the school year: October 15, 2011, and February 15, 2012. We accept Box Tops, Campbell’s Soup, and Tyson labels.

Target Take Charge of Education Program

Did you know that every time use your Target REDcard to shop, you could be earning money for Meridian? Here’s how it works: Visit Target.com/tcoe or call 1-800-316-6142 to designate your school, and then use your REDcard whenever you shop. This can be a Target Credit Card, Debit Card, or Visa. Target will donate 1% of your Target purchases and 1/2% of all other purchases to Meridian.

As of December 14, 2011, there are 47 Meridian families participating—the most recent donation we received was $1,391.29! Thanks, participating families!

If you already have a Target card, please go online or call to designate Meridian as your school. It doesn’t cost you anything and the savings add up quickly—every little bit helps! If you don’t have a Target card, consider opening one or encourage grandparents, neighbors, and friends to participate in the program and support Meridian. The more people we involve, the harder the program works for our school.

If you are already participating, THANK YOU! Check our progress anytime at Target.com/tcoe.
